My name is Brandy Astwood and I created My Birth Connection to share local resources available to expectant families in our beautiful foothill community of Amador County  & Calaveras County in Northern California.

As a childbirth educator, doula and mother of six I have a passion to EMPOWER women with the KNOWLEGE and tools to make EDUCATED choices during pregnancy, birth and beyond. This is a passion that began to blossom at the age of 6 when  my aunt allowed me to accompany her to a friends homebirth then as I began to birth my own children my passion for birth and womens rights exploded .

Going beyond my own childbirth services, I have brought together other local resources that serve mothers during pregnancy and beyond, along with useful website's that transcends boarders.

Pregnancy and Birth is a time of TRANSFORMATION for women. Great healing and discovery takes place with the birth of a child, creating change in a woman's mind, body, and spirit .

The need for gentle, compassionate support that respects a mothers choice is essential.

In our culture birth has been stolen from  women. No longer is it a CELEBRATION of a woman's strength. Birth is now a medical event full of fear and mistrust in the body and birth.

As a mother and a woman I RECLAIM BIRTH and I hope you will too by educating yourself during your pregnancy
